My name is Malcolm Christie - originally from Dundee in Scotland, I'm happily married to Jill and now live in Southport (near Liverpool) with our 2 kids, Lewis and Amy.

I studied at University for 4 years, earned my Honours in Computer Science then entered the life of a 'professional'. Seven years after graduating, I became a Chartered Engineer then a Chartered IT Professional 2 years later.

I held a senior management position in a law firm - it took years getting to where I was. I enjoyed doing what I was doing and was making a good living, but it wasn't going to last forever. Sooner or later, I'd have to retire... and then what?? One look at my pension forecast started alarm bells ringing!! Although I'd been paying into a private pension every month for years, it didn't look like I was going to have enough to survive when I quit my day job - I would never be able to afford to retire!

Sadly, this is the case for pretty much all everyone of my generation and younger. I say sadly but why should it be sad? Why should we expect to be looked after? At this point my outlook changed and I began to take steps towards my future financial freedom.

In the Autumn of 2004, a good friend of mine recommended that I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, a multi-millionaire businessman and entrepreneur.

The amazing thing was that I don't read books - I can't sit down long enough to get to the end, but Rich Dad, Poor Dad was the first book in years that I read from cover to cover. I then went on to read Rich Dad Poor Dad 2 - The Cashflow Quadrant and Rich Dad's Retire Young, Retire Rich... followed by other programs in the series. These books and audios gave direction to my business aspirations and, more importantly, my life goals...

Success Network was created following my shaky entrance to the home business world.

After some false-starts, hundreds of poor leads, a few highs, many lows, money made and even more money spent... not to mention domestic arguments, I finally found my feet and now have a growing business that should look after me in my old age!

Fortunately for me, this is common to those who take "the path less travelled". It's crucial that you find your own feet, in your own time and, most importantly, that you don't give up - understand that setbacks are all part of the learning process and, without them, you will never achieve success!
